The article linked above says that the SCOTUS is expected to issue a decision today on a Louisiana abortion law that will effectively kill Roe v Wade.
The court is expected to decline to review the lower court ruling, and pro-abortion advocates are saying this decision would effectively signal to the lower courts and to pro-life activists that laws limiting abortion at the state level can now be passed.
Of course, abortion will still be legal in the US based on state laws, including the unrestricted abortion rights in New York. However, at least some states will pass laws to require reasonable things like no abortions for minors without parental consent, and no partial birth abortions.
