You should checkout the channel of Jean Francois Gariepy, The Public Space, that I posted above. He is a Québécois genetecist with a PHD from Duke who did post graduate research. He has a book called The Revolutionary Phenotype: The Amazing Story of How Life Begins and How It Ends (I need to get a copy) - in which he asserts that the first group who begins to genetically engineer their children will come to dominate the planet and cause the extermination of our species, as they will outcompete naturally selected people. Full disclosure: I have not read the book yet, but have listened to hours of his interviews. He hypothesizes that once the feedback loop of natural sexual selection is severed that we will end up as the arbitrary selection choices of society and ultimately as sexless drones to an AI whom chooses our destiny. As a result, due to the overwhelming moral hazard, he will argue even with the disabled, to their face, that to attempt to genetically engineer our species even to avoid disease or disability is a moral hazard that is simply too great - but he does so from a good place. His insistence on the importance of sex is both great and stereotypically French. Grab some headphones and tune in while you do some menial work, you’ll dig his show. He combines the alt right, sex, science, libertarianism, philosophy and debate into an open format (funded by superchats) where everyone must openly defend their position against public critique - hence the name "The Public Space."
