Lying certainly helps, but one should know where to draw the line.
Some lies are inconsequential in that they don't really cause any harm, e.g. lying to a girl you merely hook up with about your job, height, age, life experiences, family situation etc. You're really just saying what is necessary for her to rationalise banging you, and she's probably no worse off for it (she might actually feel better about herself thinking that she banged a high value man).
On the other hand, saying to some desperately poor woman from the third world that you're going to marry her/take her away from her backwater country forever/look after her children and parents etc in order to get the bang and then ghost seems unethical to me.
