For young guys here in the US it is real popular. Most of the times good looking women get right to being bartender while the guy has to start out somewhere as a busser or barback. In some cities bartenders can make some real good cash after tips, more than the majority of professions out there. I am going to be getting some shifts as a barback for the weekends and should be making 200 to 300 on a given night, that's barback of all positions.
As for the entirety of this thread, it is true.
Women are taking over more and more male dominated professions as you have movements like women in STEM and various big industries. A lot of big companies are more inclined to hire women than men all else being equal. All it really does is slowly put us in a situation where women have less of a need for men when it comes to finances and money matters less in game than it might have before.
