I don't think "traditional women" were ok with their husbands openly fucking other women on video. Debasing your wife by indiscreetly, recklessly and publicly whoring around has always been considered absolutely outrageous, and it's no wonder that many ancient and medieval dramas are based on that. Tradition implies discretion, which is utterly absent here.
