But they haven't done it themselves, the wealth did it, the hedonism... Women didn't choose not to have children and go to do useless work, the world did it for them, this current stage of society. Most jobs aren't needed, and everyone could just live a worthless hippie lifestyle -- that actually happened, and had to be countered with consumerism and feminism by the elites just to keep society afloat a little longer.
The Roman empire empire fell because of hedonism. Because everyone was busy having orgies, and killing the babies. There is a point in a society where the wealth is such, that everyone loses the will to live, because they see no purpose beyond hedonism; and they're not wrong. Women stop having babies, and turn themselves into sexual commodities. Men become sex fiends.
What is there left to do when you have every physical need satiated? Of course you try to give to the world, but what if you have nothing to give? What if there is nothing left to give? There is then no purpose to your life... but we can't live without purpose. So we turn to hedonism to fill the void, until society collapses, and there is again something to do.
There is no such thing as social progress, civilization runs on a cycle that forever repeats itself. In which way are we better than Classical Greece? Women's rights? Minorities' rights? Useless technology that does nothing more than increase convenience? That's all a joke to keep people occupied... We all know that women don't have the capacities of men, and that non-Whites have historically proven to be inferior over a 2000+ year period... They had bad luck for thousands of years before even meeting the White man? Women too? Everyone knows the truth whether overtly, or covertly within their heads, and we're just mentally masturbating to the idea of 'social progress'.
We're at a point now where the collapse could've happened, but isn't allowed to just yet. Maybe it won't happen, and we'll stay in this purgatory forever.
The truth has to come out eventually though.
P.S. For those that don't know about the hedonic treadmill--hedonism is addiction, and will take you deeper and deeper until you don't come back.
The ups and downs start by getting larger, then smaller, until you feel nothing, and it pushes you deeper and deeper into deviant behaviour. If caused by drugs, you OD, if caused by sex... I believe you end up doing horrible things to children.
Society collapses when the amount of deviants gets large enough.
