I and others who responded early on had no indication then of some of the subsequent revelations. The information we had access to was not enough to rebuke her. Plain and simple.

Women can't be put in the virgin angel or Jezebel whore categories alone, especially when preliminary details are sketchy.

What we know now changes things (her reaction after his sex offender status was revealed was abysmal) but there's a pestilence going around these parts whereby anyone who doesn't immediately morally bodyslam a woman for being a reprehensible, truly evil slut is given the label "white knight".
