That seems to me to be waaaay overstating it. All human beings of any worth crave excitement and disdain average-ness. That's not what we were put here for.
You're right that misery loves company though. Many many times I've observed that a girl's innocent sunny sexy demeanor can be compromised greatly if there a nasty ol' heifer comes into her circle of friends. As often as not, said heifer is (i) fat, (ii) super smart, (iii) utterly unable to attract a good man, and (iv) mean af.
