Women in a foreign country go for local status / knowledge and resources - even if it's just a cave to dwell in if they're broke and there are no better takers.
That's how women have operated since the dawn of time and international travel via airplanes that men invented and built doesn't change that.
I have met plenty of fairly good looking young women from poorer western countries (i.e. a Polish girl and a white Mexican girl) in Bangkok 10 years ago that were literally willing to get with any western guy that wasn't butt ugly / obese or socially awkward who was living there and that they could mooch off.
The playboys of Bali are short, have small dicks, some skinny as fuck, not particularly good looking and are broke as a joke - relying on handouts from the women they game - but they still make it work even though there are tons of good looking western surfer guys as well. They have strength in numbers, local power, they seem less threatening to the foreign eye (the south east asian murderer always comes with a smile in his face) and the game of guys located in a muslim country where men have power (no egalitarian bullshit).
