I happen to personally know two girls who found themselves in the exact same situation, just recently, within the last few weeks.
Both work as stewardesses for major international airlines based in the Gulf countries. One was on leave (holiday), one had a layover. Needless to say that they weren't staying in $10 rooms in some red light district.
Both were scared shitless and spent half the night fighting off multiple attempts and tricks trying to get them to open the door to the room. Both moved furniture to block the door and also disconnected the telephone. Both stayed awake until sunrise, just to be sure. Literally the exact same situation, but two different cases.
Happened in Dubai and India.
The main difference is that neither of them has a YouTube account, so nobody gives a shit.
But I think it's safe to assume that this scenario occurs thousands of times, each day, all over the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
Not an isolated case.
