As far as I know this just seems like standard Chinese bluntness. So anyone would be honest with their thoughts like this and not really think twice.

This doesn't seem true. There's probably like 5% more guys in China than girls, but in the West the effective gender gap is something like 60/40 or 70/30.
There is 33.5 million more men than women in china; I think the population of Australia is about 24 million.
This is a huge issue in China, imagine these guys work hard shit jobs, they contribute, hard construction work in their country. Contribute to the world so that cool hipsters can DIY their trendy flat pac kitchens, like they see on reality tv shows. And the west can buy cheap plastic shit they will throw away soon after.
But the thing is, someone, some group, country whatever is always going to be exploited. Id love for peoples to be equal, but there always has to be someone to do the shit jobs in this modern behemoth of a world we live in now.
