Also, could it be true that colder climes have some influence on the body 'holding on' to fat? May be total Bro Science but I'm sure I remember reading somewhere that the Innuit (to take an extreme example!) have developed a different way of distributing bodyfat in order to deal with the cold. Totally not sure whether this would apply in Russia though.

Incidentally, that vid from NoMoreTO was very succinct and explanatory. Confirms that I'm on the right track I think workout-wise.
