Huffington Post: "Everything You Know About Obesity is Wrong"

I’m gonna play devil’s advocate sort of, and mention that the article does have a few valid points.

The bulk of farm subsidies go to corn and grain producers, to produce the foods that will make you fat and kill you.

The medical industry seldom offers much in the way of guidance for weight loss. There’s little money to be made through insurance reimbursement for nutrition consultation. In addition, the industry hasn’t come to a consensus on the best dietary approach: low carb or low fat.

Healthy eating is a bit of a luxury. This is especially true in cities where low income areas lack full size grocery stores, and instead they rely on corner store bodegas that sell processed junk food that can sit on the shelves for months.

Fat people don’t want to associate with other fat people. It’s because fat people looking at each other is the same as looking in the mirror.

There was plenty of BS in there as well. You may be able to carry around 100 extra pounds in your 20s and early 30s, but eventually that weight will catch up. It’ll destroy your hips and knees. Eventually it’s gonna turn into heart disease and diabetes.

I was disgusted when the fat woman decided it was time to be “fat and proud” and proudly requested a table instead of a booth at a restaurant.
