I work for a oil and gas super major. The problem with the Permian is the high cost of living and lack of housing options. Sure you can make $100k but you will spend most of that on housing. You might be able to live in a man camp but is it really worth it to live that kind of lifestyle.
You can make $100k in any major city selling cars, bartending, selling insurance etc. There’s a ton of ways to make money in the US.
