Pardon me for living perhaps it wasn't clear. That meaning inside the usa no one knows what it is while the rest of the world does. Maybe you should check my countries visited list before you make such conclusive statements. I travel quite a bit thanks.
Ok, I see your point now, by the way you wrote it is hard to tell whether the object of your sentence is "US" or "outside the US".
