As you probably have heard by now, YouTube is about to introduce new censorship regulations which could affect a large number of content creators, especially but not limited to the alt-right. For more information here's a link to an archived Breitbart article.
Now unless you are German you will most likely be unaware that YouTube's new initiative is the direct result of NetzDG ( Netzwerkdurchsetzungsgesetz) wich was secretly passed in the Bundestag by only 10% of all attendees (a minimum of 50% is required according to § 45 of the Bylaws of the Bundestag) and thus is expected to take effect right after the German federal elections on October 1st 2017.
I have taken some of the highlights taken from a popular German Youtube blogger and translated them as best as I could. Warning: I have not verified all points below so there could be inconsistencies or false information.
Free Speech In (And Outside Of) Germany Is DEAD
All critical content directed at the government can now be simply and quickly removed from the Internet.
Internet sites and Internet channels (e.g. YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) openly critical of the government can and will in the near future be censored on the basis of 'hate speech' or 'fake news', 'racism', 'Islamophobia', etc..
When NetzDG takes effect on October 1st 2017 online networks like Facebook, Twitter, and Youtube will be compelled to delete 'offending content' (i.e. anything labeled as hate speech, fake news, racist views, etc.) within 24 hours. For ambiguous cases a period of 7 days will be granted.
Any companies serving content on the Internet in and outside of Germany will be compelled to voluntarily comply with the NetzDG as they may otherwise face substantial financial penalities ranging into the tens of millions of Dollars.
The censorship of all online content will operated primarily by ideologically supportive agencies and NGOs, e.g. the German 'Amadeu Antonio Stiftung' which is headed by fomer East German Stasi agent and self declared racist ("the East is too white") Anetta Kahane, as well as the actual online organization serving the content.
Expect a vast swath of Internet content to now be censored via automation and artficial intelligence directed by government agencies and ideologues at various government sponsored private NGOs. The new YouTube censorship initiative which was just recently announced is a direct result of NetzDG. This has been in the works months.
Voluntary ideological censorship by private organizations (e.g. Google, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, etc.) can now be done under the guise of preventing financial penalties. Effectively social networks and content providers are being coerced into political compliance.
The new NetzDG was supported and backed by Angela Merkel, who received a solid education as secretary for 'Agitation and Propaganda' in the GDR, and Heiko Mass for whom freedom of speech (the main pillar of democracy) belongs in the hands of private organizations and Stasi rats free of any control mechanism.
There also will be the 'Bundestrojaner', the Bundes-Trojan, which is spyware built and disseminated by government agencies to intentionally infect the computers and mobile devices to spy on not only any person of interest but also anyone loosely connected to them (e.g. family, friends, acquaintances, business partners, etc).
The state will have the means and authority to gain access to any and all content stored on a person's computer and smart phones. Any passwords or online access codes found can also be used liberally to extract more information about the person of interest.
"Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?" Who watches the watchmen?
Opinion: Possible targets of NetzDG and Staatstrojaner: System critics (political, Islam, conservatives, politically incorrect bloggers, etc.) are now considered potential terrorists and they and their social circle can now be surveilled and spied on.
Starting in 1957 Erich Mielke (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Erich_Mielke), as minister of state security, one of the leading party loyalists in charge of building a comprehensive surveillance and suppression system in the GDR.
If Erich Mielke and Erich Honecker weren't already dead they would most likely permanently walk around with a massive erection at the pure concept of a powerful government controlled surveillance apparatus like NetzDG.

NetzDG also contradicts fundamental EU data protection laws whch prohibits the hand over of personal data to complaining entities without a direct court order, which could otherwise result in threats, stalking, or worse.
NetzDG also violates the German constitution, most definitely the U.S. constitution, and that of many other Western nations.
NetzDG directly violates elemental human rights, such as freedom of speech and right to privacy.
