Yea. I would have tried something like leaning in to smell her and commenting on it or looking at her with a 'not bad' expression. I think the pheramones (sp?) and attractive smells is a ripe area for subtle escalation. It's a tricky situation but there's nothing wrong with escalating a bit then getting her # and making a couple rounds. Like you said if you knew she's interested and you have her contact info no harm no foul in walking away for a bit. If the convo is in danger of going stale you can do the above or slightly pinch her forearm and say a 'not bad' kind of thing and get that ball rolling. I would go that route before creating interest by walking away.
