I have seen some pick up gurus suggest that most of the really hot girls do go out to the clubs...I think it depends on the location quite a bit.

Definitely depends on location. I don't know much about US.
In EE going to night clubs regularly is still frowned upon. In my country social status of a girl who goes out every week is close to one of a whore. Plus going out is expensive. So a small fraction of girls go out. And if you go out regularly you will keep seeing same faces over and over.
