Austin night life data sheet 2017

I realize that there are already couple of data sheets on Austin , the most famous one being the SXSW one. I thought I would give a fresh perspective and update on the new spots that have popped up recently around the northern part of the city. I personally only do night game so this guide would be tailored more towards it. So without further ado, here is the sheet:

Dirty 6th :

Most popular bar area with more bars in a mile radius than anyhwere else in the United States (bar New Orleans). A lot of people from out of town come party here , a true spectacle. A lot of young hot blondes and latinas from UT and Texas State University. Thursday nights are Frat/Sorority nights if you are into that.
Best bars :
1. Blind Pig : Most Popular rooftop bar, great crowd Thursday through Saturday

2. Shakespeare: Right across the street from Bling Pig, rooftop bar , same deal as blind pig but a bit smaller.

3. Soho Lounge: Best on thursday nights , gets super packed so arrive early

4. Barbarella : A little bit further away from the main street, this dive bar that plays 80s/90s music and describes the weird vibe of Austin perfectly. Tuesday is gay night but has a lot of hot women, pretty good Friday through Saturday. Also a PUA galore. (Free entry till 12 and then they charge 10-15 bucks to get in)

5. Kingdom : Pretty good spot if you are into house music, has a pretty good lineup of djs every weekend. The space is small so sometimes it gets way too over packed so play it by the ear.

West 6th/Warehouse district:
I have lumped these two areas together as they are literally right next to each other. West 6th is more conducive for game however as it has better volume and alot more hotter women. Friday through Sunday is amazing.

Summit : A danceclub in the warehouse district, a block away from west. Has a great rooftop dance area with mainstream edm music blaring all night long. A micro mini replicas of the clubs in vegas/miami

West 6th Bars:
Dogwood : My go to and favorite spot in Austin, gets packed around 11 and stays like that till 1. Good place to start your night off and pull girls early to different venue or back to your pad.

Green Light Social : : The hottest spot on the west 6th right now, gets packed and usually has a line outside , which is fairly fast. The drinks are strong and the music is awesome. A decent outer patio area and a inner dance floor which gets packed wall to wall. Sunday nights are industry night here.

The Ranch: Not my cup of tea but an amazing location regardless. Right acroos dogwood and next to green light, Its more of a nightclub with a big dance floor area and a patio area in the front. Its too dark and loud for my taste but I know guys who pull from there pretty often. Also most girls start their night off at dogwood or another bar and then end up at the ranch.

There are other bars in the area but with these three you can never go wrong [Image: wink.gif]

Domain/Rock Rose :

The newest section of nightlife in the northern part of Austin, a 20 min drive from downtown, this new section has qucikly become the go to spot for people who dont want to drive downtown(especially uber/lyft leaving austin has made getting around a pain in the ass). Its a mini 6th street that has a more diverse crowd.

Dogwood: : Bigger than its west 6th counter part, the bar has two levels with good music playing all night long. Nights could be a hit or a miss, sometimes there are way too many dudes.

Kung Fu Saloon : Right across dogwood is kung fu saloon, an arcade game parlor themed bar with way too loud music(and an annoying gong that the bartenders keep hitting every 2 mins.), good spot to chill for a bit and bounce.

77 degrees/Rose Room : Hottest new club/patio bar that has been attracting the quality girls from all over austin (One of my buddies met mia khalifa here) . The bar and the club are adjacent to each other and have same entry, 77 degrees is a chill rooftop bar with 2 levels, they have hookahs and really nice couches to chill on, drinks are strong and nice. Rose room is the club next to it which reminds me of Las Vegas/Miami clubs (albeit smaller). Gets super packed with hot girls getting turnt on the dance floor.

Rainey Street :

A more chill area , about 5 min car drive from 6th street. The whole street is old houses that have been turned into bars. Fairly packed with a bit more older/nerdier crowd but good volume of hot women on the weekends. Best place for daygame on Sunday as they have a lot of hot women getting drunk on mimosas for Sunday/Funday. The caveat being that sometimes it feels a bit more cliquish and people tend to stay in groups and avoid mingling which might hurt solo players.

Best Bars:

Icenauers: Small bar with a back patio, gets packed every weekend. Generally has a pretty good male/female ratio/

Lucille : Loungish bar with a big back patio.

Bungalow: : Same as Lucille with benches.

Container Bar: I would personally avoid The Container bar, its weirdly spaced out and gets way too crowded to be able to do anything. I have pulled from here in the past but still one of my least favorite place in all of Austin.

Great insight here. I would just clarify that:

Dirty 6th = College Kids (as you referenced)

West 6th = Graduates/Young Professionals
- Good things always happen at Dogwood
- Green Light Social is off the chain, possibly my favorite place on West
- Kung Fu is always solid too

Domain/Rock Rose = Young Professionals/Older crowd
- Smaller and more bougie area, you will run into regulars and 'north Austiners'
- Surprisingly good but will never be as good as downtown
- This area has great logistics (walkable) if you live in one of the apartment complexes on the block/around corner. I don't know many people who have these logistics DT.
- Cleaner than DT and easier parking
- Those three places are equally good for different reasons
- If you're there around 1:30am I would always finish at Kung Fu

Rainey = Super Chill
- You can wear flip flops/tank tops into some bars I think.
- Pro tip: Go here for Sunday brunch hours and the talent/ratios will be insane

East Side = Hipster/Grungy/Divey
- Pro tip: Go to Native (VERY different from rest of East Side though, kinda bougie). It is actually an upscale hostel with a bar downstairs (late 20s to 30s crowd). Music is like at Volstead but better and without being packed in like sardines. There will be competition but lots of girls.

I would concur that Austin is seemingly more cliquish nowadays.
