As someone who lived in the Bay Area for over a decade, I always give the following advice to men:
Leave the freakin' Bay Area! If you live there, stack cash ASAP. If you have a crappy job, the cost of living isn't worth living there. Just move to somewhere else. Better cost of living, better women, better male friends, etc. You won't regret it for a minute.
