I'd have to go for the first Godfather movie. The title doesn't just refer to Marlon Brando's character Don Corleone, but also to Al Pacino's, who plays his son Michael. Michael starts out as a typical nice guy, experiences his father's real business and gets taken under his wing, and rises to become New York's most powerful gangster in the end.
