OP, I think this might be linked to the way you see yourself.
For example, if you think that having a job is important for a man, you'll say to yourself "I'm a lesser man, now that I don't have a job".
This will translate into lesser confidence and poor body language, thus repulsing girls.
Then, you'll appear more manly when you have one, as you'll see yourself as a better man.
From my point of view, having a job doesn't help attract women, just by the fact of having one.
(Of course some jobs help, but that's not my point).
You can always lie if they ask you what your job is, and as long as you don't feel any guilt and strongly think you're the shit, you won't have any problem getting laid.
