Rapid fat loss runs the danger of damaging your metabolism. This is the problem experienced by the biggest loser contestants and is the reason why dieters have difficulty keeping off the weight. Six months is too ambitious for the amount of weight you are trying to lose.

I would suggest losing between 1 to 1.5 lbs of fat per week is a reasonable goal. This means it would take 40-60 weeks to lose 60 lbs. You could lose more in the beginning stages.

An untrained person can easily gain muscle and lose fat at the same time. For an athletic person it is more difficult.

Your diet is poor. Changing your diet to something more healthy (no sodas, no fast food, no junk food) will go a long way. You should do both cardio and weightlifting. For survival reasons the body has a tendency to lose muscle first and preserve fat; consequently, you should lift weights to at minimum preserve your muscles.
