Some of the older cat aficionados go in cycles. They get bitter and for a while and avoid dating, hypothesizing that they don't really need a man. Perhaps put on weight. After a while they do start feeling the grind of isolation, so they frantically start trying to clean up their act. They lose some weight, notice that men are starting to notice them again, regain some enthusiasm, and hit the singles scene for another go.
But their underlying pathology hasn't changed, and they end up getting pumped and dumped by the same type of chodes that it happened with three years prior in the last cycle. Jadeness increases, and the bitterness returns, and they withdraw again.
You can imagine this cycle happening three or four times over a particular woman's prime sexual lifespan.
But it is finally a generalization. I've met up with quite a few bitter before their time girls in their mid 20s. I've known a couple women in their early to mid 30s who were quite sweet. I think it finally just comes down to how much cock they've taken. The attractive older girls with lower notch counts are often ugly ducklings who matured into swans, and didn't really get started until they were in their mid 20s, or girls with more traditional upbringings that mostly did LTRs lasting years with a couple partners.
There are probably a few girls in the world who can take a lot of dick, but remain mostly pleasant and unjaded. They enjoy sex a lot, but also somehow developed an unshakable internal self-esteem that doesn't require a ton of validation...you might call this the "Independent" type, as opposed to a woman who is dominant or submissive. They're likely very rare, and my completely wild guess would be that they actually swing somewhat more conservative in their worldview than the average "empowered, sex-positive feminist" type that would have you believe they fit that model. But I wouldn't say that they're the unicorn we sometimes hope for - they'd still very much be young women, with all that entails. Who have taken a lot of cock.
