The study is interesting though and I don't think we should get defensive over it. What the study implies is that there are several hierarchy levels in this society where beta is the second highest. Personally I find that the PUA beta/alpha mentality is limiting because it's so black and white. In this article we see the characteristics of the beta. It implies lower chance of heart disease and probably a longer living age. In my mind this kind of beta is where most self proclaimed-alphas end up though they have still elevated themselves from the gamma layer.
