Time boxing. I just wind that timer for 25 minutes and get to work. Using REBT to become aware of my thoughts when I wanted to procrastinate was essential.
In that post, I wrote that comparing yourself to others is a path that leads to a lack of fulfillment. I still hold that view, however competition is healthy. I say 'compete but don't compare'. There's definitely motivation to be had from competition.
