Why do you think they're consistently portrayed as evil characters throughout folklore cross-culturally? People noticed the pattern.

You can tell Disney is under SJW control when they start reimagining fairy tales by making the heroine of a fairy tale the Antagonist and trying to 'justify' her evil actions.

This is a great point, and needs to be fully appreciated.

I've thought for a while now that the "witchcraft persecutions" of old Europe had some social cause behind them which is traceable to the disproportionate number of old women in parts of Germany and Northern Europe.

Decades of warfare had resulted in an imbalance of women over the number of men.

And there may--just may--have been a public outburst of hostility to the scheming, games, manipulations, and mischief being caused by bitter, alienated old women.

You'll never find this theory discussed, of course. But there may be something to it.

The book Malleus Maleficarum didn't just come from nowhere. It had some reason for its existence and popularity.

For those who don't know, the Malleus was a manual for the arrest, examination, torture, and prosecution of witches.

These are dangerous thoughts, to be sure, but perhaps worth thinking about.
