James, who was out on bail for an earlier assault charge when the incident occurred, was convicted of assault and holding the woman against her will. Hijazi pleaded guilty to assault and was sentenced to two years. In 1994, a jury awarded the victim $2 million in damages in a civil lawsuit.
James has reportedly written 400 songs while in prison and is heading back to the studio to record.
If we started banning musicians who act like dicks in their personal life, there wouldn't be much music left...
