I would say the reason Hungary takes no shit, builds fences and does its best to keep kebab out is due to its history. Hungary has always struggled as a nation from the Ottoman Kebabs and Hungary's defeat at Mohacs to the Habsburg's Imperialism and the carving up of the country during and after Trianon to the Soviets and now - it's inevitable a shitlord arose from such trying times. I think Orban is different from Putin, you certainly don't see Orban demanding to have the territories ceded by the Trianon Treaty back at least not yet you don't.
