And the west treats them both the same, as if we are all part of the same tribe, when they see us as enemies.
This is the mother of all asymmetrical relationships.
They play continuously on our compassion, charity, guilt, sense of fair play in effort to make us change our behavior to suit them.
On the flip side, they have none of these feelings for us, and they both operate from a deep quality of hypocrisy, demanding from others qualities they do not have themselves.
There is no way it can go on forever.
