The "dance"'starts with a girl that is socially savvy. When you engage in indirect pickup you're fucking with a chick almost the way that chicks fuck with other chicks. You're speaking to her in her language in her manner. You're showing mastery of her world, when done right. (Keep in mind she doesn't know any other world) With indirect, you show her that you get it. You understand. Done well, it's a literal pleasure to talk to the player. She gets to feel smart, sexy, sassy, powerful, submissive, etc. Primarily through speech.

It's why indirect always works better on smart girls or savvy ones. Dumb girls or chicks that speak another language have a hard time with indirect. I find that I have to find common ground in order for her to start her part of the script. She has to be able to talk and flirt back for it to work.

With direct, or telegraphing your interest, the girl is forced to make a quick judgment. Should she get involved in the flirtation or not. Are you attractive enough, is she in the mood for that?

So in the day game situation, if you're chasing down chicks on the avenue trying to chat them up, I've found that it's hard to go indirect. They already know that you're going to hit on them, and there was no neutral reason to run after her.

But if you're going up the escalator, stuck in an elevator, on a train or train platform, in a line, someplace where you have a captive audience and it's not socially weird to chat - then you can develop that back and forth and build that heat. You can show off your personality and screen hers. She will suspect that you're hitting on her, but she'll listen long enough for the real game to start.

But you want to chat up a girl, feel that spark and go sexual....It's tougher. I get that you're trying to sweep her off her feet by being this awesome and direct guy.

The summer time, the beach, festivals, traveling - , there are some scenarios where this is a good bet. Chicks are primed for that.

Especially If you can get an instadate out of it, DO IT. Because you can roll an instadate into a full day and then a night of hanging out. More than enough time.

But If you can only get a number, that number is usually worse than useless, because you can't make her feel that spark again over text. It's why club numbers without grounding are useless.

These are generalities of course, but the more sexual and direct you are, the more it depends on her feeling you like that in order for it to go in that direction. Direct is ideal for packed scenarios. Be efficient.

Day game is typically not packed. Even though their defenses aren't up, they're also not in socializing mood either.

Could you come on strong during the downtown lunch rush, and really snag some hot little intern? I'd say most the time the answer is no. Not off of game. If she fancies your look, then yes.

A chick that does bite, and returns your calls, is at least good to go out with, but I wouldn't call that setup a definite bang.

As a young player, try this out. But realize it's going to be more about her immediate impression of you, rather than a chance to monkey with her mind.
