Read "hair like fox" by Danny Roddy ... I am pretty sure it helped with my mbp but a lot of people report no improvement.
As far as drugs go, must studies reporting low side effects are funded by drug companies themselves.
Search for some of terrible irreversable side effects people are reporting. Some claim it destroyed their lives...
If I was desperate I would sooner try progesterone to inhibit TII 5 alpha-reductase (which converts test into dht). Google that too, some guys are reporting insanely good results with minimal to 0 side effects.
