Traditional blackmetal bands/musicians tend to have hard-right viewpoints. Varg isn't a special case, just has the biggest voice in that scene - primarily due to his infamy. They are also all very racist, misanthropic, and militant. You can cherry pick single quotes and viewpoints, such as the one referenced in OP, but you could do that with neo-nazis, KKK, and other extremist groups.
That specific quote has a lot of merit and relevance to this community and modern western society as a whole, but I'm not sure I would want to be associated with this dude as a backing for any kind of cause. It's like quoting Charles Manson.
