Based on comments and recommendations to this post, I shaved using a safety razor for the first time this morning . I was very pleased with the results, but I feel like such an ass, not switching sooner and wasting all that money on "high end" disposables over the years.
I shaved my face and head and can't tell any difference in the smoothness from a disposable. The heavier weight of the safety razor made it easy to cut through tough stubble patches.
Anyone thinking about switching to a safety razor should do it.
