We're basically saying the same thing then. I stated specifically IF the girl is already into herself. i'm not talking about hitting on a 4-5, average looking girl who rarely gets complimented. I'm talking about hitting on a hot self absorbed girl thats a "8" or higher and already thinks she's the shit. She gets complimented by guys ALL the time, via facebook, social circle, etc. If you "open with a compliment" i.e. "gassing her", then YES, you are lowering you self-worth in her eyes and will be seen as just another one of her legion of admirers.
