Back in ye olde 1980s, some of us had decent parents that lived through and took part in the Civil Rights movement in the 60s. We were taught that we should treat everyone equally regardless of their skin color. It was a liberal value that good people believed and practiced. In those quaint times there wasn't a national media and an internet shoving divisive crap in our faces 24/7. There also weren't a lot of absurdly hypocritical SJWs running around stoking the fires of racial animosity and agitating for acceptance of all sorts of perversions.
