Word on the internet is the kid was heavily medicated with all sorts of drugs growing up. Yet another common theme behind the mass shooters.

Most of the killers who do these sorts of things would've been in mental institutions had the left and libertarians not agitated to have the baby thrown out with the bathwater. 70s-era social justice assholes like Geraldo highlighted extreme examples of mistreatment in a couple of these places and convinced politicians to shut them all down rather than implementing reforms. You also had movies like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.

This is another historical inconvenient truth we're all supposed to never remember or mention.
