The Truth About Clubs in Vegas

The Truth About Clubs in Vegas

I feel the need to write this and it's long overdue. Many of you guys have been duped for far too long by certain "club hosts" that give "hangover experiences".

I have been pm'd and told in person far too many times about the outright leeching, swindling, and thieving practices of Christian Mcqueen.

Parasites like this guy are unfortunately all over Las Vegas and LA. They prey on your ignorance which is understandable because clubs keep their practices unclear and obscure on purpose. I will use him as an example of what guys like this do ALL day every day.

Many men on this forum have gotten value from his advice and that's perfectly acceptable.

What is not acceptable is that he has hyped himself as some sort of VIP host to the rich and famous that has the inside connections to make your wildest dreams come true for the low low price of so many 1000s of dollars.

He has used this forum and now his own to prey on unsuspecting newbies to clubs and game to rip off men who want to better themselves or have a great experience while on vacation.

By giving "free" advice he has used misdirection to appear to be doing you a favor by charging you exorbitant amounts of money for simple things you can do yourself and all for free or a fraction of what he will make you pay.

The truth is, he is completely useless and unnecessary. He is an "independent host". He may have briefly worked at one at some point but I doubt it was for any significant length of time.

This means he does not work for any club directly, but rather claims to have a relationship with "all" the hot clubs where he is given inside perks and discounts that he passes on to you, his good buddy from the forum, buyer of his bullshit books, and purchaser of his game coaching.

First, he does not pass on any discount to you, he charges you for his company and then he has you pay for the costs you normally would.

Then, he parties on your dime, and drinks your booze.

What a great guy!

Enough about Mcqueen, how this guy was ever taken seriously is beyond me and I'm sorry I haven't said something sooner because a lot of men have been ripped off.

This is how it works at almost all nightclubs in Vegas.

The Structure of Night Clubs

First, you have to understand, that clubs want there to be a big long line stretching around to infinity. The longer the better. This gives the appearance that the club is hot and exclusive.

There are varying levels of entry:

Level 1, General admission/entry; This is the worst way to get into a club. You will be in that long line and you will pay full cover price. It doesn't matter if you have girls, they pay too. The general admission price varies depending on the night, it can be anywhere from 50 dollars on up to several hundred (sometimes more, think Memorial Day Weekend in May).

Level 2, Guest List/VIP List
That stupid line is also the easiest to avoid, all you have to do is find a club that you're interested in partying at and find them on Facebook. You will see club hosts with names like "Joe at hakkasan".

Friend request Joe and start a conversation with him. ALL club hosts, waitresses, and bartenders have guest lists that they have to fill.

*quick note* The difference between a "host" and a "promotor" is that a host can cut deals and sells bottles/tables. A promotor is just some guy that get's paid 3 dollars a head for getting you on the guest list/VIP list.

Get Joe to put you and your buddies on the guest list. This line is usually shorter and usually has a reduced cover or free entry (except for big weekends).

Alternatively you can find a promotor thats standing around in the casino somewhere with a flyer. Usually you can find these guys trolling the casino a couple hours before the club opens.

The VIP list is just called that to make you feel better for standing in line (but it is a slightly better than general admission and also easy to be put on). The promotor will claim it's a requirement to have girls with you and have you show up before 11pm. The girls is so you hustle and find some girls that he can get paid 3 bucks a head or so the other employees can fill up their guest lists but the 11pm time cutoff is real. This makes that line look impressive, and you standing there looking great thinking you're hot shit because you aren't over there with the plebeians in the general admission also looks good.

Level 3, The Host;

Joe at Hakkasan isn't a fool, if you talk to him and tell him you met a month ago and that he said he would hook you up when you get back he will play along. "So you want a table"?

No Joe, no I don't.

Work something out so you can show up, with you, your buddies and a some girls and Joe will walk you all in past the bullshit lines if you tip him roughly the same amount as the cover for that night.

Is Joe going to turn down 300 bucks to walk 5 people in when the cover is 100 bucks per person? No. Joe won't do that, and if you are cool Joe will do it for less and give you some drink tickets that will save you 20 bucks a drink.

*Our dipshit friend up there will charge you 500 to walk just you to the guest list line where you will wait for an hour or more*

Here's where some savvy game will go a long way. These hosts are not all money hungry dickheads, they're usually pretty cool and if you look after them, they will look after you. What you have to decide is how much your time is worth. Do you want to wait in line for a couple hours with the plebs or do you want to look cool with the girls that are with you?

Level 4, Bottle Service;

The worst thing you can do is contact the club directly, they will charge you retail for whatever that night happens to be.

If you've developed a relationship with Joe he will be more willing to come down on the price. Hopefully you've spoken to more than one person so you can kind of play them against each other (generally if another host from the same club has quoted you a lower price, they will not go lower but will say "ah yeah Mike might have some special rate going on, you should talk to him") My advice is not to use female hosts, they don't see a person, they see a dollar sign like a stripper would however sometimes you can get some interest from them if you become Facebook friends (making them see you as a person) and they are more willing to work with you (but that's another story).

Hosts have quotas they have to meet with how many bottles they sell. Knowing that and being cool can get you a 2 for 1 deal, or you'll pay for a shitty table and get a good one or any number of things.

But here's the kicker, you will still have to wait in a line for a bit. If Deadmau5 is playing, it could be an hour.

Obviously it would be better for you if you had some connection through a friend.

All of this ambiguity is where predatory "independent hosts" like Mcqueen rape you.

They know you don't know how any of this works. They know you have no idea there's a difference between a promoter, an "independent host" or an actual club host. They know you don't know that a "VIP" or "Guest List" is just fancy talk for general admission.

Most indépendant hosts are viewed as parasites by club hosts (because they are and because they can't actually get a job working for the club) and they don't have good relationships with the clubs. This is part of the reason Mcqueen charges as much as he does, he doesn't actually get any discounts, so to make things worth his time, he has to mark things way up.

The other reason is that he's a greedy little leech that thinks it's cool to get you for all he can. Chances are great that if you've paid for his services he's bragged to you about fucking someone else over, implying they're the idiots, but not you because you two are buddies and he wouldn't do that. By the way, he's going to need another 100 to tip these guys, sorry that's just the way it's done here. This is vegas bro sorry.

Now, there are preciously few independent hosts that are as well connected as Mcqueen claims to be.

**There are some independent hosts that have worked in the industry IN VEGAS for years at a top tier club or a place like the Spearmint Rhino where they know EVERYONE in the business. This independent host will be able to walk you past everyone in all lines, (and that means everyone) and will be able to get you a comped table, they are like supermen and don't try to nickel and dime you at every moment. That also means this host doesn't stay in shitty hotels off the strip when you are using his services (although he may party with you but it's "worth" it)**

And they sure as shit don't have IMDB profiles with shitty reels on youtube because they take their jobs as hosts seriously.

Guys like Mcqueen are a dime a dozen here and in LA. He's just the only one that I know of that's found the forum.

His presence here can be summed up easily.

He came here whining about a girl, he wrote another post whining about how he was caught stealing from the girl he was dating while drunk.

He lied about CNN or whoever doing a story on his "playboy lifestyle" program or whateverthefuck he calls it and all while giving out "advice" that's been proven to be plagiarized and telling you how great he is in the "industry". He claimed to pass on this unprecedented opportunity because he was keeping his anonymity (as if a guy that can't help but hype himself in every goddamn post he's ever written could pass that up) but notice that now his identity is semi public, that big story is nowhere to be found.

Well when he first joined this forum he was whoring himself out to the LA crew for rep points. He ripped them all off in some way but few said anything because of the catch 22 of having a useful connection vs calling a guy out on the forum who was rapidly gaining popularity.

I welcome questions on both club practices and predatory hosts or anything else related to the subjects brought up here.
