I grew up playing the sport, and still attend a lot of games. The one thing that hockey has always had in abundance is open hearts and arms to those with Down Syndrome.

They will give nearly any fan with the DS a chance to work or be a part of the team in some way. I never fully understood what the reasoning behind this is.

Perhaps it all started with Joey Moss....
