I can't speak to the professor or his research but I would think given his STEM background and the fact he was given a grant and a team of doctoral candidates to do research, that many major universities care more about the possible money or outright human advances his work could produce. The misgivings of an invariably fat, jealous twat wouldn't weigh heavily on their minds.
Just think, as per the female's own admission, this all could have be avoided if she were given some chocolates on Valentine's. And this is not being facetious.
