No, it's real Islam from the Arabian peninsula, where the religion was founded and has always been, you know the one with all the pilgrimage sites? That other forms exist, and that this form is growing is due to the fact that it better encapsulates the historical understanding of Islamic motives and the example of their prophet. Thus, it continues to succeed because it has all the supports of the religion's fundamentals and texts.
Think about it: Suggesting that it is "just a form" is a nuanced way of saying that there can be others, diminishing again how dangerous the religion is in general to human freedom and sanity. But look around, there clearly can't be, and the other forms don't win, which is what, again, Islam is about, thus reinforcing the point.
Calling it for what it is, is indeed the only way to maintain the right frame of mind regarding Islam and thus, creating solutions in defending against it.
