The best way to deal with a flake is to not treat them as a priority. Have 3 or 4 other solid 8.5s that your also working on.
You hit a girl up, she flakes. You hit another up, she doesnt flake. You go out with the reliable one and you will probably forget about the flake. The flake will hit you back eventually if she likes you.
