Er... so you're saying we should let outliers dictate common practice? That is, quite literally, insane.
Remember that time that dude with HIV/AIDS received a bone marrow transplant and was magically "cured" (infinite remission) of HIV/AIDS? Science went back and found that the bone marrow donor lacked the cellular enzyme required for the HIV/AIDS virus to grow. If we "cured" one person, then why aren't we harvesting the bone marrow of these people to deactivate the HIV/AIDS epidemic? Oh... That's right... It' was an outlier. The patient receiving the treatment just had a bit of luck on his side.

I don't care for any medical advice books revolving around a trendy topic. Why is that? It is because they were majorly written and published for the pursuit of money. That "credible" doctor is going to change his view on gluten once this whole fad passes over.

I consume a large amount of gluten, but I need those carbs for the energy. Try being involved in an athletic activity for 2-3 hours on a paleo diet. It won't work well for you.

Actually I'd be just fine. I'm an avid soccer and tennis player, and I also do Stronglifts and do long-distance cycling. I just eat more sweet potatoes, various squash, plantains, etc. Those are safe starches and it's a complete misconception that paleo dieters don't eat carbs.
