5 colleges under Title IX investigation for their handling of sex assault claims

If there was a murder on campus I sure wouldn't expect one of these kangaroo courts to handle it ("he's been accused, he must be guilty!") so why is it any different for other crimes? Anyone with a legal background want to chime in here?

They would absolutely 'handle it' in the same way they handle sexual assault cases: as a disciplinary measure for violation of the school's code of conduct. The reason we don't see these tribunals for murder should be obvious: murders are exceedingly rare on campuses, especially those featuring college students as both killer and victim. Murders also don't lend themselves to the same degree of factual determination as sexual assaults; you'll never see a college girl go out drinking, meet a charming young dormmate, mutually agree to let him shoot her in the head, and then decide weeks later after losing her tingles and talking extensively to the Women's Center feminists that she really regrets being dead and maybe it wasn't consensual after all.
