If you are going to articulate in the article about your distaste for gender tropes, why not start with this one? The trope that women are always vulnerable and incapable of making their own decisions. "An alpha male is coming up to me?! Oh dear I couldn't possibly refuse such an offer, I'll just have to embrace him because I'm too weak to make my own choices!"
What is really funny about that statement is that is so comically backwards. The most independent women that I've ever met have been from less-developed countries. And I am talking real independence, not the phony "you go girl" gender studies faux-independence of middle class women in the United States and other rich countries. American women talk a good game, but dig deep and you'll find that most of them are either living of mommy and daddy or are living off the Big Daddy in Washington.
