When traveling to a new part of the world, one of the first things I research is whether or not there are any natural hot springs in the area.
In a hot spring you get the chance to actually soak in the new environment, take in your surroundings, and meet some real characters.
You have probably read somewhere about the health benefits of hot springs. And it’s all true. Soaking in the waters can heal just about anything.
Remember that story in the Old Testament where the rich army commander needed his leprosy cured? Where did the prophet send him…to some motherfuckin hot springs.
Not to mention the spiritual benefits. You are soaking in water that has been heated by mother earth herself. All those pure elements and minerals from the water enter your body, balance out your energy, and soothe your soul.
And on more than one occasion I have ran game in a town and gotten girls to tell me the location of the ‘secret local hot spring’, promise to take me there, and then get naked, rub each other down in mud, dry in the sun, wash off…bang.
So here is a list of some hot springs that I have encountered in my travels.
And these are NATURAL springs…please don’t add any touristy spas where clothing is required.
Jefferson Springs, Virginia
Hot springs are rare on the East Coast, so I will give these a pass for not being completely natural. There are some old school wooden pool houses that are built around the waters. Guys and girls are separated. But Thomas Jefferson soaked in these same pools and the waters are very high quality. I try and stop here every time I road trip south.
Bagby Hot Springs, Oregon
When I first visited here 8 years ago, this place was relatively unknown and I had a really fucking hard time finding it. Now it has its own website, google it for a detailed map. A 40 minute hike into some beautiful Pacific Northwest forest and you come across some wooden shelters that contain big wooden tubs. You fill the tubs yourself with the hot spring water that is always flowing, get naked and soak. Marijuana is highly recommended at Bagby.
Remington Hot Springs, near Bakersfield, California
About 45 minutes from Bakersfield, this place attracts the hippies. But the pools they created are in a very picturesque spot right on the banks of the Kern river. There is a rope swing you can use to launch out into the cold water of the Kern. It’s a very steep hike down to the river from the parking lot up top. I got a squishy handjob in one of the private little pools farther up the bank.
Travertine Hot Springs, Bridgeport, California
2 hours south of Lake Tahoe and 30 minutes north of Mono Lake. This is a weird place well worth checking out. Strange formations of travertine burst out of the ground and create an unearthly landscape. Some pools were kind of nasty and dirty, but some were kept clean. I was easily able to get my girl secluded here and bang her while watching the sunset. Be sure to visit Mono Lake if in the area, one of the coolest landscapes in the country. Close to Yosemite National Park.
Mystic Hot Springs, Monroe, Utah
Another place that hippies love. The waters are channeled right from the ground into some big bathtubs that you can sit in. It was surprisingly comfortable even in the 105F sunny desert heat. The guy there said the parties at night get pretty crazy, and from the looks of it, i bet they do, but I was only there during the day.
Mt. Arenal Volcano, Costa Rica
There are a lot of touristy spots that have hot pools around here but after getting drunk one night in Fortuna, me and a truckload of Costa Ricans swam in an almost boiling hot stream that was only about 5 inches deep. I have no recollection how to get there.
Somewhere in the Black Hills, South Dakota
Again, I got hammered at a local bar in Custer, jumped in the back of a pickup and ended up swimming in a bath-temperature stream. On the way back to the bar, I fell out of the pickup while it was moving but wasn’t hurt at all. Magic of the hotsprings. So there are some springs around here, just get drunk and ask someone.
There are some more that I just can’t remember right now. Visits to the waters have always been a highlight of my travels. There are always some interesting people hanging out at the springs, and asking local girls ‘do you know if there are any hot springs around here?’ usually leads to some stimulating conversation.
Next month I’ll be in Mexico on a little road trip. My only real plan besides gaming girls in Mexico City is to stop and visit Heirve el Aqua near Oaxaca. See what happens after that..
