Seriously, everyone knows that girls are much bossier than boys. The leadership oriented girls when I was growing up would demand absolute control over their friends while with the boys, even the bullies wouldn't stoop to that.
My little sister would only play with girls at least 3 years younger than her, because girls the same age as her would contest her authority. I've never seen a boy do that.
Girls are labelled bossy because it is a uniquely female trait. The guys I've worked for who are complete control freaks wouldn't waste their time going around telling people what to do. They'd still want control, but they'd get it by biding their time and figuring out ways to manipulate the situation to their favour. They'd have you convinced that they were doing you a favour.
