fat women smashing their scales--latest episode of predictable cycle

Just saw Roosh's tweet about this: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/12/31...24224.html

I've noticed that there is a cycle to this kind of thing: 1) fat women and/or feminists come up with some new fat-empowerment stunt; 2) for a brief period they get applauded for being brave, kickass, beautiful, empowered, etc.; 3) everything goes back to normal and they are forgotten.

There was the fatkini thing http://www.mamamia.com.au/social/fatkini...-swimwear/

The yoga instructor who got fat: http://www.rooshvforum.network/thread-28869....hlight=fat

A variation is the carefully posed, made-up, and photo-shopped picture of a plus-sized but otherwise good-looking model circulated to prove that bigger women are beautiful--these will circulate on facebook now and then. Or someone like Jennifer Love-Hewitt or Tyra Banks will get photographed looking fat, exclaim that she loves her body and no one should judge her...and quickly drop out of sight for awhile and lose the weight.

See also: burlesque, bellydancing, etc. I'm not saying there isn't an overall trend toward fat-acceptance, or let's say, an overall trend toward increasing fatness coupled with feminist pressure to accept fatness and grudging acquiescence by more and more men with fewer and fewer options. I'm just saying that these periodic excrudescences follow a predictable pattern: attention-grabbing stunt usually involving fatty "bravely" taking pictures of herself, statements that Everything is different, this is sexy/beautiful/amazing now, and then everything goes back to normal, "brave, amazing" fatty is forgotten, and fat women continue to not be sexy.

Fun to mock, sure, but not worth getting sucked into more than that.
