All serious psychotropic substances, whether illicit or prescription drugs, are very tricky and unpredictable. I don't doubt the testimony of Gio and others who have had positive experiences, but there are also plenty of horror stories to go along with that.

If a problem can be treated without recourse to these crude and risky chemical interventions, then they should be avoided. And that is definitely the case for something like anxiety.
