Ahh, the great Orwellian Slavery is Freedom argument. Many many times heard and many many times rejected. Your "cultural standards" created the Meagans Law Witch list. All of the fear mongering around the "rape culture" hoax is society trying to enforce (create) bullshit cultural standards.
If I pull out of my ass some thing I think might make my life nominally easier, say outlawing oral sex so that I don't have to explain to my partners that I have oral herpes, I then create a cultural standard. I can then come up with all kinds of bullshit reasons why that "cultural standard", now in place, is necessary to maintain the fabric of society. And do you know what the basis of my thesis will be? We have to protect children.
This standard, protecting children, has brought us many of my favorite "cultural standards". Like gun control. Or statutory rape. Or the war on drugs. Or a litany of other totally unconstitutional Orwellian social engineering experiments.
